An investigation into the effect of concentration on the rate of reaction between Sodium thiosulphate and Hydrochloric acid When sodium thiosulphate solution reacts with hydrochloric acid, the following reaction takes place: Sodium thiosulphate + hydrochloric ? sodium chloride + sulphur + water + sulphur solution acid solution dioxide A kind of yellow precipitate of sulphur will be formed. We will have to find out how long it takes to cover the whole cross by that mixture after it turns cloudy. Planning: Aim: I am going to do an investigation to find out the rate of reaction when using different concentration of sodium thiosulphate mixing with some hydrochloric acid to see the reaction of them. Prediction: I predict that as we increase the concentration of sodium thiosulphate solution, it would increase the rate of reaction. In another words, it would speed up the reaction. The reaction would take place faster, which means the time...
