Aim An investigation into changing CuS04 solution concentration on the temperature change when CuS04 reacts with Mg. Background Information This experiment will investigate an exothermic reaction; an exothermic reaction is one when heat is given off. There are many examples of this reaction that could have been chosen The reason why this example and consequently this experiment were chosen is because of the time constraints involved with the other examples. The following options were dismissed: 1. Iron + Copper Sulphate (Fe + CuS04) 2. Copper + Silver Nitrate (Cu + AgN03) As both these reactions are to slow for our available time and therefore are not suitable options. Additionally these elements and metals were available within the school premises and can be used in a controlled experiment.
