An Investigation into the factors that affect the rate of reaction Aim: Our aim is to investigate how different factors affect the rate of reaction. We will have to find which will give of the most carbon dioxide, in a reaction between hydrochloric acid and marble chips (calcium carbonate. i) Temperature: Temperature alters the rate of a reaction by supplying the reacting particles with more energy, the more energy in the reaction means the more energy the reacting particles with have which means the particles are moving around more which will increase the chances of a collision. Also the more energy they get from the heat the more the more energy the particles will have to react. Generally the greater the temperature the faster the rate of the reaction. This experiment could be fairly accurate but without an electric water bath the temperature can not be kept as constant as is needed, this...
