Recent Reviews of Patterns of Behaviour Essays
What our users think of the Patterns of Behaviour essays in this section:
"This is a well written experiment, and all the needed sections have been included in the correct order. Your results are very nicely presented, and the table is clear and easy to understand - adding in a graph could also have been very useful. The conclusion and evaluation and quite detailed, however they lack quite a bit of length. Some sections need to be padded out slightly, such as the 'Fair Test' and Safety'.

"Your aim and hypothesis are very detailed, which shows that you understand the experiment and know what you are talking about. The method is very straightforward to follow, and the results are displayed very clearly in the table. Your evaluation is incredibley detailed, which is excellent, and it is clear that you understand exactly what went on during the experiment. Overall, this is very impressive, and I have no doubt that it would gain top marks.

"Your sections are all very detailed, especially your 'Equipment' as you actually describe each items purpose, which is not done in most experiment write ups. Your results are well presented, and very clear. The analysis of your results is thorough and informative. You have understood exactly what your results show you. Also, the evaluation is incomplete - and this is a vital piece of the experiment.

"A good little revision tool, which will help you revise the periodic table and the main groups. You have included clear definitions, and have tried to explain why things happen in a lot of detail. You have outlined the main properties of some of the groups, and you have also listed the uses for some of the elements (especially the noble gases). A little short, but I guess this is all you need when it comes to your exam.

"A little weak, overall. The planning section includes very little in the way of theory to justify the predictions made - even 'obvious' predictions should be justified in an experimental write-up. I can't assess the graph as it's not included, but without there should really be some quantitative consideration of what the results show - why does the temperature increase appear to reach a maximum even when the mass of zinc used keeps increasing, for example? The author's evaluation of the experiment is quite naive - few experiments will give "perfect" results and the distinction between accuracy and reliability of results does not appear to be understood. Some suggestions are made for improvements to the method, but these are limited and more could be made of this section.
