APPARATUS: 9 x small test tubes 9 x medium size test tubes 9 x un-known substances 9 x spatulas 1 x Bunsen burner 1 x heat - proof mat 1 x metal tongs 1 x goggles 1 x bottle of distilled water 1 x test tube rack 2 x graphite rods 2 x crocodile clips 2 x electric wires 1 x battery supply 1 x plastic beaker 1 x lamp SAFETY PRECAUTIONS: 1. Ensure that Bunsen burner is set to safety (valve fully closed) when un-attended and roaring flame (valve fully open) when heating. 2. Safety goggles and lab coat must be worn at all times while conducting experiment. 3. Ensure bags, books, coats and all un-necessary equipment is stored at back of classroom. 4.
