Physics Coursework: Air Break Investigation Prediction I predict that as I increase the number of vanes stuck into the cork, the mass on the end of the cotton string will take longer to reach the ground. I think that this will happen because I know that the more air resistance there is acting on a falling object, the quicker gravity and air resistance will balance and make the object reach its terminal velocity, therefore the object will fall at a slower speed thus taking longer to reach the ground. I also predict that as I increase the mass that is hung on the end of the cotton string, it will take less time to reach the ground. I think that this will happen because I know that the heavier an object is the longer it will take for gravity and air resistance to balance and for the object to reach its terminal velocity,...
