Plan. Electrolysis involves separating a compound into its individual elements with electricity. We are going to set up an experiment that tests how the amount of charge affects the amount of copper deposited at the cathode of the circuit. We are going to use copper sulphate (CuSO4). The equipment will be set up as in the diagram. Equipment: * 200ml copper sulphate solution * Power supply * Beaker * Wires * Ammeter * 2 pieces of copper. We are going to fill a beaker with 200ml of copper (II) sulphate solution. This is the electrolyte, which is a solution of ions. The ions must be able to move for the electricity to flow. We will then take two pieces of copper, one for the anode of the circuit, and one for the cathode. These will then both be weighed and the weights will be recorded. Then, a wire will be attached to both pieces of copper, which will...
