Copper plating electrolysis Aim: I aim to investigate the process of making pure copper through the process of electrolysis. I will try to find the best conditions for creating pure copper. Prediction: In my opinion I think the longer that the zinc is in the copper sulphate, the more pure copper we will produce. This is because the copper ions will have more time and so more of them can travel from the copper to the zinc and form pure copper. Method: Apparatus needed: * Power pack * Electrode bridge * Measuring cylinder * Small beaker * Stop clock * Wires * Copper sulphate * Copper * Zinc Step by step: 1) Weigh the piece of zinc you intend to use for the experiment. To be as accurate as possible weigh to 3 decimal places. 2) Place the piece of zinc on the electrode bridge with a similar sized piece of copper to insure that the size of the surface area...
