The aim of this experiment is to find the mass of the electrode over 5 minutes. The things that could affect this experiment are: * If you do not take the measurement correct. * Make sure that the circuit works properly otherwise in could keep on disconnect. * Make sure that wash and dry the electrodes every 5 minutes. I predict that the positive electrode will get heavier after every 5 minutes where as the negative electrode will get lighter. I think this will happen because the positive electrode gives out the impure copper and the negative electrode takes in the impure copper. Method 1. Weigh the electrodes. 2. Make up the circuit with a bulb. 3. Put the electrodes in the copper sulphate solution. 4. Turn on the circuit. 5. Time it for 5 minutes. 6. After 5 minutes stop the current and the stop watch. 7. Wash and dry the electrodes. 8. Reweigh them. 9. Work out the differences...
