Chemistry Investigation Aim: To find out the concentration of sulphuric acid in "acid rain" by titrating a sample with a standardised solution of sodium carbonate. Equipment: * Burette- Sulphuric acid will be held in this to be titrated. It is a very precise measuring instrument, used for measuring liquids, whereby the accuracy of this instrument is ±0.05 dm-3 if it is used properly, like shown in the method below. Hence making it a perfect tool to use for the titration. * Funnel- to transfer liquids and other solutions into other containers with minimal spillage. * Distilled water- To mix the sodium carbonate powder to make a standardised solution. * Methyl orange- Use this as an indicator to find when the mixed solution turns acidic. * White tile- To see the titre limit, when the solution mixture changes colour. * Washings beaker- To weigh the sodium carbonate powder in. * Sulphuric acid. * Pipette filler * Pipette * Conical Flask * Weighing...
