Planning and Obtaining Evidence AT1 The Task (what is the problem you have been asked to investigate) I have been asked to investigate the rate of reaction of sodium Thiosulphate solution and hydrochloric acid. Sodium + Hydrochloric sulpher+sodium +sulpher + water Thiosulphate Acid chloride dioxide Na S O +2HCL S +SO +H20 Sulpher appears as very small particles of solid. The particles do not settle, but remain in suspension. This gradually makes the solution cloudy. Variable 25ml sodium thiosulphate (0.25ml) 25ml water Same 5ml HCL I think the factors that could affect my investigation are: the concentration of Sodium Thiosulphate, the concentration of Hydrochloric Acid also the temperature of the Sodium Thiosulphate and Hydrochloric Acid and the volume of Sodium Thiosulphate and Hydrochloric Acid.
