... Investigating the effect of Concentration on the activity of Hydrochloric Acid and Soda mint tablet Aim The aim of this experiment is to investigate the variation in rate of reaction of hydrochloric acid when breaking down soda mint tablet of varying concentrations. Surface area of the Soda mint tablet From previous experiments on rates of reaction, I know that the greater the surface area, the quicker the reaction takes place. This is because there are more particles in an area so there will be more collisions. If there are more collisions then the particles will react more quickly. So soda mint powder would react more quickly than the soda mint tablet. I will control this factor by choosing to use soda mint tablet because it is easier to handle. Temperature and pressure As the temperature or pressure increases, the reaction could take place more quickly. This is because particles will have more energy and their
