INVESTIGATING THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE CONCENTRATION OF ACID AND THE RETE OF THE RECTION PREDICTION I believe that the rate of reaction between magnesium and Hydrochloric acid will increase as concentration is increased. This is because I understand that for a reaction to occur the two different molecules involved must collide with a certain amount of force. These are the principles of the collision theory. As concentration is increased the number of acid particles increases yet the volume of acid remains constant. This means that there will be more collisions between acid particles and the other reactant (in this case magnesium) because there are more acid particles.
