REACTION Investigation of concentration and Aim I have to produce a piece of work investigating rates of reaction between hydrochloric acid and sodium thiosulphate and the effect changes of concentration have on them. Background Information I already know that the higher the concentration of something, the faster it will react. I know this from previous experiments and from looking in books. If the concentration of a solution is increased, there are more active particles per ml cubed. This increases the probability of active particles bumping into each other which is how the reaction is started. There are four factors which affect the rate of reaction: catalysts, temperature, concentration and surface area. I think concentration will be the most practical to do because it is easy to measure and it is not greatly effected by the room temperature.
