Have a little read: ... Experiment to find investigate the factors influencing the volume on Sodium Hydoxide needed to neutralise a sample of Acid by Colin Moore Aim: To find out what factors may affect how much Sodium Hydroxide (NaOH) is needed to neutralise a set volume of 0.1 molar acid. There will be three acids we will be using these are Hydrochloric acid (HCl), Sulphuric Acid (H2SO4) and Ethanoic Acid (CH3COOH). Prediction: I. I predict that the amount of Sodium Hydroxide needed to neutralise Ethanoic acid will be less than that needed to neutralise the same amount of acid but using one of the other acids. II. I also predict that when I double the amount of acid I will need twice as much NaOH to neutralise it. I predict that this will also be true for 3x or 4x the amount of acid. III. I predict that by using titration I will be able to work out the
