Science Assignment Hypothesis: When you put the two together with the hot water on the bottom, the hot water rises to the top, mixing with the cold water along the way. This is due to the density of two temperatures. Variable: The variable for this experiment is the temperature of the water. Aim: Do hot water and cold water mix? Equipment : * Two identical small glasses. * Hot water * Cold water * Food coloring * Index cards * Scissors * A shallow baking pan (if you don't have one, do this experiment in the sink) Method: Fill one of the glass with very hot water. Add a drop of red food coloring. Fill the other glass with cold water. Add a drop of blue food coloring. Cut about a 10cm sided square.
