Ringed plover by a water's edge The title of the poem is "Ringed plover by water's edge". When I first saw the title, I instantly thought that the poem would be about a bird hence the name 'ringed plover'. I also assumed that the poem would discuss the bird's relation with nature since there is 'water's edge' included in the title. This also shows how there might be a possible conflict between the bird and nature and this is initially established as a central opposition in the poem. After reading the poem we realise that the poem is just an expression of thought that the poet might have had. The poem describes the ringed plover and the water's edge at the same time. It is open to the reader's interpretation to decide what he or she perceives it to be. I think one of the main ideas this poem focuses on is...
