Standard solution Theses are the calculations I used to work out the molarity of my standard solution (Na2CO3 and distilled water) in moldm-3 After weighing the Na2CO3 on a balance I put it into the pot and got these measurements from a balance correct to 3 decimal places Weight of Pot, lid and Na2CO3 = 8.939g Checked that the balance read zero when pot was removed - yes Weight of Pot and lid without Na2CO3 = 5.925g Checked that the balance read zero when pot was removed - yes 8.939g - 5.925g = weight of base (Na2CO3) = 2.914g 2.9144g in 250cm3 of distilled water. Weight of base (g)/ Atomic mass = molarity The weight of the base, in my case 2.194g, divided by the atomic mass will give the molarity of the substance, and then this figure should be multiplied by a number that depends on how much water the substance is...
