An investigation to determine the effect of changing acid concentration on the reaction of hydrochloric acid and marble chip Method Firstly a plastic trough will be filled with water. Then a 50cm3-measuring cylinder will be placed under the water in the plastic trough, until there are no remaining air bubbles. It will then be turned upside down, and be held in place with a clamp. A delivery tube will be placed in the upside measuring cylinder. 50cm3 of Hydrochloric Acid will then poured into a conical flask. Then 2.0g of small marble chips will be added to the hydrochloric Acid solution, in the conical flask. The reason a small marble chip will be used is because a pilot test was done to determine what size of marble chip would be used. If a large marble chip was used the reaction would happen too slowly, if marble chip powder was used it...
