Determination of the Solubility of Calcium Hydroxide Aim To calculate the solubility of Calcium Hydroxide (Ca(OH)2) by titration with Hydrochloric Acid (HCl) and using screened methyl orange indicator. Plan 1. Set up a 50 cm3 burette and wash with distilled water. Get two 400 ml beakers, a 400 ml conical flask, a 25 ml pipette and a 250 cm3 volumetric flask. Rinse all the glassware with distilled water. 2. Half fill one beaker with 0.3 mol dm-3 Hydrochloric Acid, Half fill the other with Calcium Hydroxide. 3. Using the pipette transfer 25 ml Hydrochloric acid to the volumetric flask. Fill the flask up to the mark with distilled water and shake to mix. Rinse the pipette with distilled water. 4. Fill the burette with the acid solution checking to make sure there is no air bubbles trapped near the tap. 5. Transfer 25 ml of the Calcium hydroxide solution to the conical flask. 6.
