Business and Markets- Assignment 2 Task 1,2 & 3 The business which will be identified in this assignment is the National Health Service ( NHS ) which in recent years has come under fire for the many problems it has faced especially to do with wastage of funds. It is this waste of funds that has encourage the situation the business is facing with stakeholders. Due to the billion pound deficit many hospitals are already cutting jobs, freezing staff vacancies, closing wards and postponing operations along with other cutbacks to try to lessen the huge deficits. (www.socialistparty.org.uk) The situation was prompted when new labour secretary Patricia Hewitt announced that to deal with the deficit thousands of jobs up and down the country would be lost. More than 3,000 job cuts have been announced by NHS trusts since the beginning of march. It has also been said by the conservative party that 15,000 to 20,000
