Individual Differences: Personality, Attitudes, Abilities, and Emotion Introduction The purpose I choice this topic because people is the most important asset in an organization, and not any two human are absolute similarly, individual differences can cause increase the job complexity, for managers, managing different people is a real challenge. Individual difference includes self-concept, personality traits, attitudes, abilities and emotions. Self-concept Self-concept as "the concept the individual has of himself as a physical, social, and spiritual or moral being." (V Gecas, 1982), it is how you view yourself, these cognitions represent individual's knowledge, opinion, or belief about the environment, about oneself, or one self's behavior. The cognition include anticipation, planning, goal setting, evaluating, and setting personal standards are particularly relevant to organizational behavior. (Kreitner & Kinicki, 2001) individual's self-concept is different, that will be influence by their culture, subculture, education level, experience, family background and so on.
