I looked at this process in E3 and now plan to look at it in greater depth. HSBC use formal competency based interviews as their main form of selection. The interviews are carried out by human resource managers and last roughly around 1 hour and 45 minutes each. The interviews are formal and consistent to avoid any discrimination or general unfairness when dealing with the candidates. Candidates are asked to send in their CV's upon applying for a job at HSBC and this is usually the starting point of discussion.
