Economics Commentary 8 "Clark praises 'positives'" The article I selected deals with economic development. Awarua Runaka generated $1 million, which he plans to invest in development strategies for its people. Awarua Runaka has different development strategies to choose from. In my commentary I will attempt to focus on one of these strategies. The foundation of a "free market" economy is the principal of "comparative advantage", and this principal of "comparative advantage" is based on the assumption that products and labour can move freely in a market to find their optimum price. A free market does not exist on the international, as it is self-evident that labour mobility does not exist in today's international market. Also, a free market supposes no government support for industry. Government support in direct and indirect research is provided either to companies through contracts, to a whole industry through join industry consortium companies, or through university...
