Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 This act makes further provision for securing the health, safety and welfare for people at work. This act protects them from any risk related to health and safety. In 1974 approximately 8million employees had no legal safety protection at work. This act protects employees and the public from work activities. Employees must comply with the act ,they must: * Take care of their own health and safety and also of others. * Must not interfere with anything provided in the interest of health and safety. * Co-operate with fellow employees. If they don't comply they would be t risk, and the company will not be liable for this, as they have not followed the regulations.
