Biology Visit Report On Wednesday the 21st of January 2004 I visited Bristol Zoo. The two aspects of biology that I intend to explore are associated the poison-dart/arrow frogs of Central and South America. My first issue is how they produce and release the toxin and the role of their bright colourful skins? The second issue is what effect does the toxin have on humans and animals and how does it work? I visited the reptile house where Bristol Zoo home three different species of poison-dart Frogs ('Dentrobatidae'), the 'dentrobates'; 'azureaus', 'leucomelas' and 'pumilio'. I recorded the information surrounding the exhibit and leaflets produced by the zoo. Using this information I researched these creatures using the internet and books.
