Problem Set: The main aim of this investigation was to find out whether osmosis occurs in a potato cell. I must place several different pieces of potato cells in different concentration levels of sugar solution and record these results. Prediction: My prediction is that if the potato cell has a higher concentration level of sugar and less concentration of water, and the solution has a lower molarity level, which means that if it has a lower concentration level of sugar and a higher concentration of water, then the potato will increase in weight because water will move into it. But if the potato has a lower concentration of sugar and a higher concentration of water, and the sugar solution has a higher molarity level, which means if it has a higher concentration of sugar and a lower concentration of water then the potato will decrease in weight.
