Sophie Jones 11P 11X3 Osmosis What is the effect of concentration on Osmosis? Aim: I intent to find out how different concentrations of sucrose solution (molar) will affect the mass of potato chips by the process of Osmosis, if they become larger or smaller. Variables involved: For this experiment I would expect to have three different variables, independent, dependent and fixed variables. Independent variable: (things I will change) In this investigation I will change the concentrations of the sucrose solution. Dependent variable: (things that I will measure) In this experiment I will measure the change the mass of potato chips when it is placed in a sucrose solution of different concentrations. Fixed variable: (things that I will keep the same) In this investigation I will be keeping the same amount of solution placed in the test tubes for each different experiment. I will also be keeping the same potato though out the whole experiment. Equipment: - Sucrose solution (1 molar) - Scales - Cutting...
