Planning and Implementation Aim To investigate the effect of copper ions on the reaction between the enzyme Catalase and Hydrogen Peroxide. Equipment List I used the following equipment to conduct this experiment:- Safety glasses Knives Rubber gloves Potato peeler Potato Clamp and Stand Syringes Tile Top pan balance Rubber gloves Thermometer Measuring cylinder Flat bottomed tube Test tubes 2M CuSO4 solution Test tube rack H2O2 Distilled water Vaseline Food Processor Delivery tube Water Bath Safety When carrying out this practical wear safety glasses at all times. Copper is a hypoallergenic substance and so anyone with a known allergy should not handle CuSO4 Solutions. Do not rub your eyes or put your hands or fingers in your mouth at any point during the experiment. Do not sit at the desk as this may prevent you moving in the event of a spillage.
