Biology Coursework Harriet Ward 11c2 Osmosis In Potatoes Aim To investigate the affect of different concentrations of salt solutions and osmosis in potatoes. Method * Make 5 pieces of potato, all skinless, all the same weight and length [ 1.0g and 3cm ] * I will place these potatoes in a test tube each, labelled 1 - 5 * I will then put 10ml of concentrated solution [ 0%, 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%] in each test tube. * I will set timer and wait 30 mins * I will weigh each potato, compare weights with the the original 1.0g each potato weighed previously. After this I will plot the differences on a line graph. * I will repeat this experiment 4 times more and calculate and average for each different level of concentration.
