Length of potato: this is because if one potato is 1 cm long and another is 3cm long, then the longer one will have a larger surface area and will osmosis quicker Type of potato: this is because many factors about the potato could affect the experiment. Like age or size and which means one might have more water in than another. Temperature: this is because the temperature may affect the experiment for example at really extreme temperatures the potato cylinder might die and at less extreme temperatures osmosis might speed up.
