Aim To find out what would be an appropriate and useful time to observe and research osmosis. Plan In our experiment we will need to take into account the amount of time in a lesson and what would be appropriate for osmosis so we will use this preliminary experiment to find out. First create 3 identical potato cylinders using a cork borer. Weigh them and cut small amounts off the end until they are identical weight. We are using 2.8 g of potato in both of our experiments in conjunction with a number 3-cork borer. Next put 40mls of water into each of the 3 test tubes and place them in a water bath to keep the temperature constant. We are using 40mls in each experiment, as it will totally submerge the chip in the solution and rather than using a beaker and more solution. After leaving the chips in solution for 5 minutes,...
