Osmosis is the passive process by which water molecules move from an area of high concentration to an area of a lower concentration through a semipermeable membrane. My aim is to find out the effect that different solutions (water, sugar solution, salt solution) have on the process of osmosis on a potato chip. To measure this change I will use a scale that measures in (g). Factors that might affect the osmosis process are: Temperature Concentration Surface Area Type of potato Different solutions The factor I have chosen to vary in my experiment is "Different solutions". In my experiment I will keep the concentration, temperature, surface area and the type of potato the same to ensure it's a fair test and so my results are reliable because if I investigate more than one factor at the same time I could not be sure of which factor would be...
