Osmosis I have chosen to study what the effect of Osmosis can have upon the mass of a potato chip, using different concentrations of solution. Observations. In the fourth year we studied in depth the subject of Osmosis. To study the effect of Osmosis we used Visking tubing and a salt solution. The Visking tubing expanded. Questions ? I then wondered if the same would happen with a plant cell, for example, a potato chip. I decided to study the effect of concentration on Osmosis within plant cells. However to measure the effect of the concentration I must choose either: 1. Length. 2. Mass. 3. Floppiness. 4. Volume. When doing this experiment on a preliminary run it became obvious to me that length would be too hard to measure to a good degree of accuracy. I therefore chose mass, as it would be possible to achieve more accurate results. The variable being studied./Predictions. When I change the concentration from 0.1 Molar...
