The aim of my investigation is to find out how the concentration of salt water effects osmosis in potatoes. Osmosis is the movement of water molecules that form a region of high water concentration to a low water concentration. In osmosis water molecules move across a semi permeable membrane. Osmosis can sometimes be described a special case of diffusion. In my investigation I will be using a range of equipment. I will be using: o 1 potato o Pure water o Different concentrations of salt solutions o Borer o Weighing scales o 6 beakers o Labels I will use the potato to see how concentrations of salt water will affect osmosis within the potato. Pure water will be used to find out how the salt solutions compare to pure water .I will use different concentrations of salt will be used to compare the difference of osmosis between each solution.
