The aim of my investigation is to find out how the concentration of salt water effects osmosis in potatoes. Osmosis is the movement of water molecules that form a region of high water concentration to a low water concentration. In osmosis water molecules move across a semi permeable membrane. Osmosis can sometimes be described a special case of diffusion. In my investigation I will be using a range of equipment. I will be using: o 1 potato o Pure water o Different concentrations of salt solutions o Borer o Weighing scales o 6 beakers o Labels I will use the potato to see how concentrations of salt water will affect osmosis within the potato.
