Investigation on osmosis By Nicholas Faber Aim to investigate the factors affecting osmosis. Variables The variables in this experiment are : The type of vegetable used will change the results of the experiment as different vegetables have different concentrations of water inside them which affect how much water they lose and gain. The volume of the solution would affect the experiment because if the potato wasn't immersed in the solution there would be anomalous result because only the submerged part of the potato would carry out osmosis. Temperature, if I increased the temperature osmosis would speed this is because the water molecules are vibrating more so they move into and out of the potato quicker, making the experiment have inaccurate results. Lights could cause the temperature to increase as well. Prediction My prediction is that at molar levels 0.0-0.3 the potato would increase in mass because the potato has a molar of 0.35 and...
