Biology Coursework INVESTIGATION OF THE FACTORS THAT EFFECT THE RATE OF ENZYME REACTION The aim of this activity is to see if certain factors affect the volume of oxygen produced. For safety reasons I will wear goggles and gloves, work around a clear, well organised work area and label all containers. The scientific explanation is that with more enzymes present there are more opportunities for collisions between the atoms of each substance to take place. I will have to be careful when using the Hydrogen Peroxide, as it is a corrosive chemical, so I will attempt to overcome this problem by wearing goggles. Hydrogen Peroxide is a bleaching agent, so I will be wearing a lab coat so it doesn't bleach my clothes. During the activity I will look for the amount of oxygen passing into the measuring cylinder.
