Investigation: To see how different solutions of water Effect the change in length of in a potato. Aim: The aim of this experiment is to see the effect of different concentrations of water effect the mass and length of a potato chip. Preliminary Experiment: A preliminary experiment was used to see whether potato chips or potato discs would be the best to use in out experiment. Firstly make sure that you have two potato chips the same size in length. Keep one of the potato chips whole but cut the other into equal sized discs. Use scales to measure the mass of the chip and the mass of the discs which should be recorded. Place the chip into a small container of distilled water, then place the discs into a separate container also with water then leave the potato chip and discs over night.
