Investigation: Osmosis In Plants I am going to find out if the concentration of a solution affects osmosis in potato cells. I will use a slice of potato to do this. I will measure the mass of the potato and then put it in a solution of salt water for 15 minutes. I will then measure the mass of the potato again and record the difference. I will repeat this with different concentrations of salt-water solution to see what effect it has. Prediction I think that when the concentration is lower the weight of the potato will increase but when the concentration gets higher the weight of the potato will decrease, as the water is lost through osmosis. I think that this will happen because of the principal of osmosis.
