Investigate the effect of potato on hydrogen peroxide Aim; is to investigate whether potato with increased surface area, can change the reaction time of hydrogen peroxide breaking down into H2O2. Prediction; I predict that by separating a potato into smaller pieces, it will provide an increased surface area for the catalyse in the potato to collide with the hydrogen peroxide which will therefore allow it to break up into hydrogen and oxygen much faster. Potatoes contains enzymes called catalyse. Enzymes speed up the reaction process and I can prove this by using a control in my experiment, as the air contains no catalyse, therefore there will be little or no froth in the hydrogen peroxide control. I know that increasing the surface area of the potato will speed up the reaction because in the emulsification of fat, bile is added into the small intestines to break up the fat pieces into fat droplets, which...
