Artie Prajapati 10F1 Investigate the effect of potato on hydrogen peroxide My aim is to investigate if a potato with increased surface area changes the reaction time of the hydrogen peroxide breaking down into H2O + O2. I will do this by conducting an experiment using a potato, (which contains the enzyme catalyse) into hydrogen peroxide, and measuring the amount of froth produced. This shows that the hydrogen peroxide has broken down because the froth is the oxygen escaping. I will also use 1 control in my experiment to show what happens if I don't put anything in. I predict that by separating the potato, into smaller pieces, it will have an increased surface area for catalyse to collide into the hydrogen peroxide and break it up into water and oxygen, which means it will create more froth so the reaction will take place quicker. Catalyse is an enzyme, and enzymes...
