Investigate the affects of osmosis with different cell tissues and with different lengths of cell tissues. Apparatus:> 10ml measuring cylinder> Boiling tubes> Test tube rack> Scalpel> Ruler> Distilled water> Balance (accurate to two decimal places)> Tile> Timer> Potato> Carrot> Size 9 cork borer Diagram: Method: Measure 5 lots of 10ml of distilled water and place it all in separate boiling tubes. Use 10ml so that the tissue is totally surrounded but there is no distilled water wasted. I used distilled water so that the water was free from and chemicals or additives. Take a potato and force the size 9, cork borer through the potato, remove the cork borer and push the potato out use a size 9 cork borer so that a sufficient sample is obtained. With the scalpel cut the strand of potato into lengths of 1cm, 2cm, 4cm, 6cm and 8cm. Do this so later you can compare...
