Osmosis in potatoes Aim In this experiment we are investigating how different concentrations of water and sucrose solution affect the mass of potatoes, as well as this I will try to find out the amount of sugar there is in a potato. Method First I will use a borer to get 12 pieces of potato. I will weigh the potatoes and get them around the same mass. I will then make 6 solutions of distilled water and sucrose solutions. The sucrose solution goes up two molars at a time. I will do the experiment twice giving me two of each concentration. After this I will than add the potato to each solution. I will leave the experiment 24 hours before drying them and than weighing them again. The apparatus I will use are: 12 test tube Distilled water Sucrose solution Scales Borer Scalpel Potato (x12) Fairness To make this experiment fair I will use the same volume of solution in total...
