Introduction In this experiment I plan to find out how the concentration of the solutions we make, affect the mass of the potato in a certain time. We are using the scientific knowledge and theory of osmosis to help support my prediction. Equipment stop clock Test tube Test tube holder Razors White label stickers Mass machine Ruler Ceramic tile Measuring cylinder potato borer Safety In our experiment we used a variety of equipment. Some of which were quite dangerous. For example we used the razors to cut the potato cells into shape so we had to be extra careful not to cut ourselves. We were in the presence of glass and ceramic so we had to be careful not to break anything. Fair test Constants Variables Time left in test tube Solutions and concentrations Temperature Shape and width of the potato Overall volume of solution We had to keep everything constant except the variable we intended to change.
