How does the concentration of glucose mass affect the mass of potato sticks? Planning Throughout this investigation I am going to examine the process of osmosis present in potato sticks and the glucose has on the process. Osmosis is the net transfer of water, through a semi permeable membrane, from an area of high concentration to an area of low concentration. This continues until an equilibrium of water gain/loss is reached, when equal amounts of water are coming in and out of the membrane, reaching a point of standstill. The potato sticks are to be left in a solution of glucose for twenty-four hours to examine the different rates of osmosis that will eventuate with different amounts of glucose present. Any change in mass of the potato sticks is to be measured in grams. In order to keep the investigation a fair test the only factor I am going to be changing...
