Experiment to find out the consistency of a potato and a swede Planning Theory Osmosis is the movement of water from an area of high concentration to an area of low concentration through a semi permeable membrane. In previous experiments the solution tended to change the length and weight of the potato used in previous experiments, the weight and length changed in accordance to the strength of the solution. When immersed in a solution of 1m in strength it tended to decrease the potato in mass, 0.6 molars generally stayed the same with maybe a slight decrease in mass and length but not to the extend of the 1m potato, in water (0m) the potato increased weight and length considerably.
