Does Concentration Affect Osmosis? Apparatus: * 15 x potato chips (1cm x 1cm x 1cm) * 5 x 250ml beakers * 5 different concentrations of sucrose solution - 0% - 5% - 10% - 15% - 20% * 1 x scalpel * 1 x tile Method: 1. Using scalpel, cut potato into 15 1cm x 1cm x 1cm chips 2. Put 50ml of the 0% sucrose solution into the first beaker. Repeat using remaining concentrations and beakers 3. Make 5 dividers from acetate and place one in each beaker 4. Weigh each potato chip and record mass, mark each with a different coloured permanent marker. 5. Place three potato chips in each beaker, each in a different compartment 6. Leave for 24 hours 7. Take out each chip, dry and weigh new mass. Record new mass. Fair Test: To make the experiment fair, I will: * Make the potato chips the same size each time * Store all the beakers at the same temperature * Use the same amount of Sucrose Solution every time *...
