INTRODUCTION: The heart pumps blood all around the body to supply the many cells with oxygen, to keep us alive. Our heart has a double circulation, one going to the lungs, the other to the body. There are complex systems of arteries, veins and capillaries, these are all needed to pump blood to all the organs and cells. The cells in our body need oxygen and glucose to live, and need to dispose of carbon dioxide, the blood is used to transport these and so is very important in our body.
