Aim: To determine which of a range of exercises makes a boy (15 years old) and girl (15 years old)'s heart beat increase and to find out why. The exercises to be researched are resting, stretching, continuous sit-ups, normal jogging, skipping and jumping consistently on the spot. Equipment: * * A digital stopwatch. * A wall bar or radiator * At least one other person (of the sex). * A skipping rope. * A large area for jogging. Planning: Hypothesis: I think that the less active exercises like lying down will not make the heart go as fast as more active exercises, for example skipping. This is because; the muscles need less carbon dioxide, as less respiration is required. There may be a difference in heart rate between girls and boys.
