The aim of this experiment is to investigate the effect exercise has on the pulse rate. The pulse rate is defined as 'The rhythmical throbbing of arteries produced by the regular contractions of the heart'. I will attempt to conduct my investigation in a safe manner by having an adult and a first aid kit nearby in case of any accidents. In addition the experiment shall be performed in an open space to avoid damage to other equipment or myself. Suitable clothing shall be worn to prevent hazards from occurring. I predict that the pulse rate during exercise will increase. This is because during exercise the muscles of the body are contracting faster and therefore need more oxygen to be satisfied. This will increase the pulse rate, as the heart will have to pump more blood at larger volumes at a faster rate. As a result there would be an increase in...
